The online stage is conducted on the official website of the competition, luminamath.org, where students can register and access the test platform. The test consists of 15 multiple-choice questions, with four possible answers each. The questions are adapted to the level and curriculum of each grade. The test duration is 30 minutes and the maximum score is 100 points. The online stage is held on different days for different grades, according to the following schedule:
November 7, 2022: Grade 5
November 8, 2022: Grade 4
November 9, 2022: Grade 7 and 8
November 10, 2022: Grade 3
November 11, 2022: Grade 2 and 6
The written stage is conducted in physical examination centers, which are designated by the local school inspectorates in each county. The written stage is open only for the students who qualify from the online stage, based on a minimum score and a ranking system. The written test consists of four problems, with different levels of difficulty and scoring criteria. The test duration is one hour and the maximum score is 40 points. The written stage is held on December 10, 2022 for all grades.
The competition aims to stimulate students' interest and passion for mathematics, to develop their logical thinking and problem-solving skills, and to encourage their participation in national and international mathematical events. The competition also rewards the best performers with diplomas, medals, prizes and scholarships.
